WE GOT VANCOUVER ISLAND MUSIC FEST!!!

The Vancouver Island Music Festival took place during the second weekend of July in Courtenay, and was highlighted by acts such as The Wailers and Valdy.
According to many, The Wailers drew the biggest crowd of the festival, which was compiled of several stages, including the main stage below.

The laid back atmosphere of the festival allowed many people to lay their blankets and lawn chairs in front of the stage for a nice view, and many people prepared for the warm, hot and dusty weather with hats, umbrellas and a massive orange and red striped tent.

Inside and around the massive tent lay numerous festival goers, who took time to check out many of the amenities offered while bands switched on stage.

Lot's of business was conducted during the festival weekend, with vendor tents offering every type of clothing, many of which were unique, hand made pieces.

For those with expensive taste, and a knack to commemorate, symbolize or show off, jewelery had a big part in the festival, and was on sale in dozens of tents. The majority of these pieces are individually put together, and original.

The festival drew anywhere from 3,000 - 5,000 people from all over the World, and featured the best local talent along with several internationally recognized acts. What made the festival even better, was the ample selection of food and refreshments that were available; dozens of vendors took shop, and offered a wide selection of food from hamburgers to vegetarians.

The hot, dry weather the Comox Valley was subjected too in the weeks previous, made conditions extremely dry. Pictured below, Mike Lang looks for water.
